Welcome to Big Chip Guide Service. Start your vacation off right by letting me, your guide, Tim Czub, show you Lake Chippewa Flowage. It's also known as "The Big Chip." It is a pristine body of water located just 16 miles east of Hayward, Wisconsin. The Big Chip is over 17,000 acres with over 200 miles of shoreline and 140 undeveloped islands. With this large amount of territory to cover and fish, you should contact me at the beginning of your vacation after you get settled in. I will show you the current patterns for each species for the current time of year. I know all four corners of the flowage and can teach you the hot spots closest to your lodging so you don't have to travel far to locate fish.
I've spent the last 25 years specializing in fishing this particular body of water. I currently hang my hat at the Shady Nook Resort, Campsite #8. As for your day on the lake, I provide everything that you need to have for an enjoyable day out on the water. Bring your camera, because there is a wealth of wildlife to be seen and photographed, whether it is the majestic Bald Eagle soaring overhead, a loon's wail in the evening, a beaver splashing, or bear and deer swimming from island to island.
I accommodate and specialize in family guide trips and tag-a-long boats. I am family oriented and love to teach kids and adults how to fish, including what lures to use, and how and when to use them.
I look forward to guiding you during your stay.
WELCOME TO THE FAMOUS CHIPPEWA FLOWAGE!
